Does anyone have information on Levi Baker or Joshua D. Baker? I have two Stump sisters who married these two, and am trying to find census information for them to see what children each set had. The problem is they moved to Michigan at some point after they married. All I have is their marriage dates and a list of Baker children that belong to them....I just know which children below to which couple. Mary Stump md. Levi Baker 24 Dec 1882 in Darke County. Elizabeth Stump md. Joshua D. Baker 2 Aug 1879 in Darke County. Thanks! --Teri Templeton Miamisburg, Ohio _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8. She is listed as "a native of Darke County, OH" in "History of Nodaway Co (MO)", but I don't know if she was born there, or merely resided there at one point. I have no information on her parents or possible siblings. Husband Abasalom was a wagon and carriage maker in Hopkins, MO, before running for land when the Cherokee Strip (OK) opened in 1892. She is buried in the cemetery just north of Hopkins.
The Genealogy Society is planning a reception for Hazel Robertson, a great niece of Annie Oakley from Richardson, Texas, on Friday afternoon July 25 at Garst Museum. A definite time has not been set. Museum entrance fee will be charged. Hazel will be accompanied by her son & daughter-inlaw, daughter & great-grandaughter descendants of John Moses. They will arive in Greenville on Thursday.
Good afternoon, I recall at times there has been a discussion on the ancestry of Okey Clawson Welch who m. Mary Margaret Wagner (sister of my ancestor). Today Richie Greene came into the Preble County Room with a paper created by his aunt, Mary Wolf Jordan which provides the parentage of Okey. Richie is also a descendant of Okey. I've suggested he join the list but his e-mail shows above if you wish to contact him directly. He'll be in this area until Friday. "Okey Clawson Welch was the child of James Welch and Agnes (Nancy) Clemens. James Welch born April 18, 1805, died May 21, 1863. His wife was born Jan. 9, 1813 and died Dec. 13, 1868. They were married March 23, 1828." "Agnes (Nancy) Clemens was the child of Christopher Clemens and Polly Craig. Christopher Clemens was born ??? and died abt. 1825. Polly was born ??? and died about 1815. They married about 1803." The paper has further Clemens information. This all needs to be verified. He mentioned a connection to Samuel Langhorn Clemens (aka Mark Twain). Susan -- Susan H. Kendall, Director Preble County District Library 450 S. I just received in the mail the Marchal-Meyers Family Cookbook at the Pot Pie Recipes and the Cream pie recipe, etc. and was thumbing through some of the recipes and the pictures - #54 Katie Marchal .....with her trademark "dust cap" and apron from "the store." Well I got all excited because at the ListFest there was pot pie and cream pie --- all of which I had not seen since my grandmother was alive as she always made both of these "treats" for her granddaughters at the holidays...which lead me to purchasing this cookbook but NOW with the picture of Katie Marchal ---- I'm looking at that "dust cap" and "apron" and my grandmother always wore these around the house. Does anyone have "patterns" of these dust caps and apron OR can offer any history about them? I'm taken back again by seeing something I have not seen in ages!!! June E.
