Hello! I am new to this list and don't actually have any relatives in the area, but last weekend our library had a booksale and I bought an old book owned by Ida Turner of Greenville, Ohio. Inside the cover of the book was a listing of names and she had noted that on October 18, 1892, they had all spent the evening at her home. I was wondering if anyone on this list might know of Ida Turner. The book is at home right now so I will post the names of the party goers later. Thanks! I am researching the BAKER family. They came from NJ to around the Cinncinatti area, then on to Butler Co., then to Preble and Darke Co. Right now specifically I am looking for information on James BAKER married to Rebecca PITTMAN. My main interest is who his father was. There were many James and Thomas in this family and I am trying to figure out who belonged to whom. Brenda in TX
I am looking for burial place of David CREAGER and wife Catherine (WAGGONER) Creager. David's parents were CASPER CREAGER and Anna Barbara Smith. David was born 1816 in Franklin, Warren Co., lived there until early 1860's when the family moved to Union City, Darke Co. He died 1868 but does not appear on cemetery records in Darke. Perhaps they brought his body back to Warren Co. Also need death date and burial place for Catherine. She was age 50 in 1880 census. Have not found her in 1900. I have no information on her parents or siblings. Children of David and Catherine were James M. b. 1848 (m. Elizabeth Rapp in 1878) >>IN>>MI Mary M. b. 1850 (m. John L. Gregg in 1868) >>IN Martha Ann b. 1852 (m. James Douglas in 1882)>>Darke Co. George W. b. 1855 (m. Matilda Jennie Detamore in 1877)>>Darke Co. John H. b. 1858 Lewis/Louis b. 1862 (m. Maggie Angel in 1885)>>Darke Co. Happy to share with others else researching this line. Karen --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). The only place I find her is in the 1830 census for Darke County, Ohio, Harrison township. She appears to be widowed and the mother of 2 boys 0-5 yrs, 1 boy 5-10, 1 daughter 5-10 and 2 daughters 10-15. Farabah may be Maria Boswell's mother. Maria's obituary reports that she was born June 2 ,1822 in Darke Co. Ohio. In about 1835 Maria moved to Peoria County, Illinois where she would marry James Coyle and in 1851 move to Linn County, Oregon. I have been unable to identify Maria's parents/siblings ect. Any help appreciated on further identifying the family of my great/great grandmother.

Hi all. I am creating a new list for folks with ancestors in any of the following counties in Indiana and Ohio. Adams Co., IN Blackford Co., IN Delaware Co., IN Jay Co., IN Randolph Co., IN Wells Co., IN Darke Co., OH Mercer Co., OH Folks migrated and intermarried heavily within this area. Many of our ancestors migrated over from Darke and Mercer Counties in OH to each of the mentioned IN counties. Therefore, I thought it would be a good idea to have a list designated for this area of IN and OH. What I need from everyone is suggestions for a name for this new list. Help me out folks.... email your suggestions to me. I am also toying with the idea of a webpage to be associated with the new list.
