According to the LDS website (did search on Samuel, U.S., Ohio, birth 1845, range 2 years, wife Mary) one hit noted Samuel F Hamilton was born in June 1846 in Ohio, died in 1927 in Darke Co, Ohio, is buried in Otterbein Cemetery in Darke Co, and was married Dec 22, 1865 in Darke Co. His wife is listed as Mary Elizabeth Reicker, born June 1846 in Ohio, which differs from your data of a German birth. It also lists her death as 1927 in Darke Co with same burial as her husband. No pedigree info or children as noted with the above The above of course needs to be validated with firm records. The Census info at the site has a Sam Hamilton, age 33 , with wife Elizabeth, age 34 and children Isaac 13, Louisa 1, Amanda 11, Here Elizabeth's parents were shown as born in Georgia so probably not the same Family. There were other Sam, Samuel Hamilton's for Darke Co but none seem to be a match. Also did a quick Ohio state check and came up with no apparent match. The 1870 does have a Samuel F age 24 with wife Mary E age 24 and children Isaac 3 and Amanda 1 living in York Township in Darke Co. All are listed as being born in Ohio. Foreign birth of parents is not checked. 1910 census has a Samuel F age 64.with wife Elizabeth age 64 and child Catherine age 25 and grandson Clifford age 19. Here Elizabeth's parents are shown as being born in Germany and Samuel's in Maryland.. Hope this helps. Hello, Billy Baker has just completed reading and transcribing the obituaries found in the Union City Times-Gazette for the year 1942! Additionally he has also completed RE-reading the previous years, 1934-1941 looking for obits that might have been overlooked on the first reading. There are now about 3,000 obituaries posted, give or take a few! http://randolph.dcoweb.org/UCobits/index.html I have found that search engine on the page to be a bit lacking so you might want to search from the DCOWeb homepage as well: www.dcoweb.org One can hardly imagine the amount of work and time Billy has put into transcribing these obituaries to assist us in our research. This resource has become an extremely valuable tool for research both in Randolph County, IN and Darke County, OH - and often, even reaching further in scope. So, once again, thank you Billy! -- I'm beginning to think that YOU are our most valuable resource! Happy Searching, --Jane

Recently I had the opportunity to visit parent Cemetery. When I finally found it, it was in terrible condition. But it took me a while to find it. Partly because I used the GPS coordinates from the cemetery listing on the web page. They turned out to be wrong by about 1/4 mile. I have used my GPS quite a bit in the past for this sort of thing and believe it to be accurate. The correct coordinates for Parent Cemetery are: N 40.11.532 W 084.47.479 Is there a plot map of the cemetery available? I hope to return and look a little more. I was chased off this last time by a huge swarm of mosquitos. I have flu like symptoms today and hope there is no correlation between the two events? Dan

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0VB.2ACE/295 Message Board Post: This family lived in Darke County in 1860. I am seeking info on Colbert Amrine (and his parents), born 1828 or 29 in Oh. Married Eliza McGough, 1850 Miami Co. OH. The 1850 census has them living by Fredrick Amerine and Mariah Mercer Amrine, married 1847 Miami Co., with children Mary A. 2 and John W. 5 mo. The 1860 census list Colbert and Eliza (Amrine) Emarine in Darke Co., Patterson Twp. with children William 9, Catherine 8, Harrison 5 (I believe he was 3) and Marla (I believe this to be Marley) 5 mo. I can't find any more on this family until Marley 20 and Harry 23 are shown on the 1880 Census in Licking County, Lima Twp. living with the Whitehead family. Marley (1-5-1860 to 5-26-1929) married Lena Moreland (1-10-1868 to 12-23-1932) in Licking co. 9-14-1881. They had children Edith, Sarah, Muriel, Carl, Burt and Bessie. I found a marriage listing for Abraham Amerine and Catherine Colbert on 10-20-1825 in Champaign County OH, also a Fredrick Amrine and Polly Evans 8-5-1828 also in Champaign Co. I believe that Abraham and Catherine Colbert were Colbert's parents and was named for his mothers surname though I have no proof. Do you have any info on the Amrine/ Colbert families living in Champaign Co at that time? I also think that Colbert and Fredrick may have been closely related maybe brothers (?) or cousins who grew up together? I have been at my wits end trying to locate anything on Colbert Amrine with no success, now that I think I have a lead with the Amrine / Colbert marriage, I can't seem to find any info on them either. I'm starting to think I am the only one looking for this line. I would appreciate ANY help.
Lena, There are two Covingtons. One is in Kentucky as Shirley stated. The other, Covington Village, is in Miami County between Greenville and Piqua, about 20 miles north of Dayton. Thanks for clarifying! Someone on the list wrote to me about one of the people from Covington and said the person had lived in Covington, Ohio, so I assume that's what she was refering to. There is also a Covington, Indiana, but I assume the Covington's in Kentucky and Indiana (being so far away from Greenville) are not the ones she was refering to, especially since when she went to Union City she specified that it was in Indiana. I wish I had more specific info on these people so we could be certain one way or the other but unfortunately I don't and I'm not close enough to the area to do any specific searching. --- Roberta Newcomer <rnewcome@columbus.rr.com> wrote: > Lena, > There are two Covingtons.
