Hi Karen: I am still looking for the death of my great-great grandfather John BALLANTYNE. As of 1890, he was still alive in Cleveland, owned a saloon, wife Mary. He is not listed in the Ohio Death Index, nor is he in the Necrology Index. He was born 1846-48 in Lanark, Scotland. In the 1880 OH census, he was listed as living on Broadway in Cleveland. If this is too much of an ordeal to try and find him or you are inundated with requests, I understand. You are a generous person to make this offer. Thank you, Shari

But judging from the death date and your Johns' "suspected" birthdate this does not seem like a match.
