I did a search in the Necrology File using the names as keywords and found the following references on various obits: Paul S. Spindle services. Paul S. Spindle, funeral director, CE. 1-1577. Arrangements by Paul S. Spindle Co Walter C. Ramel Funeral Home, 10913 Superior Ave. My guess is that Ramel and Spindle joined together to provide some additional services to the deceased family, maybe providing obit publications in newspapers outside of the Cleveland area. Date: Feb 4 1954 Source: Cleveland Press; Cleveland Necrology File, Reel #093. Notes: Berger, Julianna A., of 7014 Zoter Ave., beloved wife of Max A. P. mother of Mrs. Elma F. Testen, Bruno M., Mrs. Johanna Quirk and the late Mrs. Margaret Feller, grandmother and great-grandmother. Friends may call at Jay Parrish Funeral Home, 12924 Euclid Ave. Services Thursday at 8 p. m. Ramel-Spindle service. I was wondering if anyone could explain the phrase "Ramel-Spindle service" to me? I find it odd as that was not the name of the funeral parlor. Any ideas? We had a situation similar to that with my grandfsather.
