Paul Bauer mentioned in an email about a relative being born around 1850 in PA, but showing up in the 1900 census in Cuyahoga County. My Phelps line has done the same thing, in the same time frame. Was something going on during that time which gave them the incentive or caused these families to consider moving? I have yet to be able to determine where in PA they came from. I live in Virginia and all my other lines are southern based. So trying to get a handle on the migration patterns in the NY, PA, OH area is new to me.
