In the end it seems James may be your man Boy are you quick! :) Alas, it doesn't seem like the census is going to give me the answer. James is too old to be the sibling I'm looking for. Why, oh why, didn't the government require that those early censuses take down all family member's names? How much easier things would be.... Chances are the fellow I'm looking for was living with a brother and then died before the 1850 or 1860 census would have listed him. Ah, sweet mystery of genealogy..... Thanks for the lookup.
