My greatgrparents lived in this area and it was nice to see the map of the streets where they lived and read some of the articles. If you post anything further, please let the list know. I don't know which schools my grandfather would have attended in this area. Do you have plans for any school records? Carole in Georgia ******* Dear Carol and List, Public school records, are "public records" and you would think they would be readily accessible, but they are not. Private schools records, such as Catholic, are almost impossible to get a copy of unless you can prove a relationship to the person who's records you are requesting. I will have Lincoln High School graduates listed for various years. I have these because they were donated to the site. Check for your relatives' names in church records, veteran records and anywhere else you may find a list on the site. Look for various spellings also. I wish there was a way to make it easier for everyone to find a relative on this site. Using a keyword, such as a surname, has not worked yet. Always, go to "Introduction" for updates and "Thank you +" for a site index. Hi, The website is wonderful! Even though I grew up on the east side of Cleveland some of these landmarks are familiar. Mentioned under the old churches in one section is St. John the Baptist Greek Catholic Church on Scoville Ave. My grandparents were married by Rev. Emil Burik at that church in 1908. The church was demolished to make way for the innerbelt. I have been trying in vain for many years to find a picture of that church. I was told that the new St. John's in Parma has records from the old church on Scoville. I have tried several of the emails on the church website, but no response. Is there anyone on the list who is a member of the church and can help me? Thanks Patricia Owens-Wellington, OH Genealogy---Where you confuse the dead, and irritate the living. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, April 01, 2007 1:29 PM Subject: [OHCUYAHO] New Website on Cleveland's Southside > Carol Lubbers wrote: > Thank you, Pat, for this website and everybody who is part of it.
