Hi Nancy: She wrote directly to the main office of the Cleveland Public Schools and stated in the letter which school our ancestor attended and approximate years and asked for any information available. About two weeks later she got copies of a few report cards (covering two years) for our ancestor and that ancestor's sister, and a "family card" that showed three of the children in this family and what schools they attended. She wrote back later asking about the older children in this family who would have attended school much earlier (there was a big gap between the children) and there were no records for those older children. So, I guess what you get is hit and miss. But, there are some records there. Good luck, Laura Hine On Thu, 12 Apr 2007 13:09:30 -0400 "Nancy Schramm" <[email protected]> writes: > Laura: > > When your cousin requested the information from the Cleveland > School > district who did this person contact. Thanks Laura: I've been trying to figure out where my grandfather would have gone to school if he lived in Collinwood. But I'm also not sure that was their primary address even though that is the one in the phone books. My father says that they had a summer home in Collinwood and another house somewhere in the city. I haven't found any evidence of this except various and asundry documents which may have only housed his father at one time or another but not deeds. I'm also thinking that he may have gone to a private school. I will try the District office and see what I can come up with that way. I may also be able to find something out from his college records which I still have to write for :o) Nancy
