Could this be the William you are looking for? Please let me know. He had 2 brother that lived in Cleavland,Ohio beside him self do not know if he was Married or not no info on this in the Obit as you can see. My Grand-mother's name is in Obit as well as 1 of his sisters.. Other 2 Bro. was Jacob & Mathias Bonnie Mae Henson now in Southern Ca. born in Ohio ( places not filled in was unreadable in news paper article.) Susan, Next time you go up there, could you please see if you can find a William Schmidt/Smith/Schmitt, etc.. or "male child" Schimdt/Smith born August 1889? My grandfather gave birthdate August 17, 1889. I found a William Schmidt listed on the birth index for Cuyahoga, but they either forgot about me or I didn't send the request to the right office..I have not confirmed his parents, but his father was POSSIBLY a William / Wilhelm Schmidt / Smith. There's a William Smith the right age to be my grandfather in hh of a Wilhelm Schmidt and wife Augusta with an older "Duback, Durbach" (sic - forget how it's spelled on the census! Sheesh!) male (probably Augusta's father) in Cuyahoga County in 1900. a Wilhelm Schmidt and Augusta Dehrbach were married up there in 1884, and this is probably them. I couldn't find my grandfather's record in Lorain, where he stated he was from, so it's probably in Cuyahoga.. Sure wished Ohio had a STATEWIDE birth index for that time period!!!! I thought I had requested it online from Cuyahoga County, but guess they didn't get it. There's a William Schmidt born, it looks like, 1889 who may be my grandfather. Who can I call up there?
