Saw your message. Was wondering if you have a J.A. Stanton in your family? I have a coroners report from 1911-Cleveland with a J.A. Stanton as a witness to a shooting. Not sure if Stanton's are related to my family or not. The report is for my grandfathers brother Peter Roman jr. He died of complications of a gun shot wound. I have been trying to find out just how and why he was shot. He was 21 yrs of age. His death certificate says "homicide" the coroners report is faded and hard to read but looks like it might say "Accidental". The other witness were: Anna Roman, Frank Hoenig, J.M. Benz, Mike Prokop and Ost?? G??bbland or G??ffland. I have very little info on the Roman family. My gr. grandparents immigrated from what is now Slovakia in abt. 1884 or so. All their kids were born in Pa. Been hoping I could find someone who might know of a family story passed down thru the generations about his death. I have had no luck in finding any newspaper article about it and the coroners report telling what the witness' said is missing or was never recorded.
