The Lorain County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society is pleased to welcome well known speaker Dr. James Freed who will present "Genetic Genealogy; Using DNA to find your Ancestors" on Monday, September 8, 2008 at the North Ridgeville Public Library, 35700 Bainbridge Rd., North Ridgeville. Social time at 6:30 pm; the program and a general business meeting at 7:00 pm. Dr. Freed is a retired professor of zoology at Ohio Wesleyan University, where he taught for 32 years, 20 years of which, he taught courses in genetics. He is a much sought after national and international speaker with appearances at the Ohio Genealogical Society Conferences. He is currently the administator of the Freed and McCabe Surname DNA Projects and the past president of the Delaware County Chapter OGS. In this presentation Dr. Freed will emphasize paternal (Y Chromosome) DNA studies, maternal (mitochondrial) DNA studies and starting ones own surname DNA study.  LCCOGS welcomes all genealogists to attend this special appearance by Dr. Freed.
