He is not in the census though, but it wouldn't be the first time he avoided enumeration. There appears to be a Ohio death certificate for his wife, listed as Mary Jane Thomas, born in 1855, widow of Leyshon Thomas, and daughter of Thomas Gaynor Fitz Simmons at http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?datestamp=1188967098937#searchType=standard;givenName=lyson;p=1;collectionId=700227;surname=thomas If you have problems, e-mail me directly and I'll save a copy of the image and will send it to you. The death certificate lists her place of burial, which is difficult to read but could possibly be Lake View Cemetery. They have a website at http://www.lakeviewcemetery.com/genealogy.html. You might try writing to them to see if Leyshon was buried there too.
