Hi Laura Thanks for this. I have written to them straight away. Since I posted the original request I have found a transcript of the 1900 directory on line and he is still there at the age of 86. He is not in the census though, but it wouldn't be the first time he avoided enumeration. There appears to be a Ohio death certificate for his wife, listed as Mary Jane Thomas, born in 1855, widow of Leyshon Thomas, and daughter of Thomas Gaynor Fitz Simmons at http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?datestamp=1188967098937#searchType=standard;givenName=lyson;p=1;collectionId=700227;surname=thomas If you have problems, e-mail me directly and I'll save a copy of the image and will send it to you. The death certificate lists her place of burial, which is difficult to read but could possibly be Lake View Cemetery. They have a website at http://www.lakeviewcemetery.com/genealogy.html. You might try writing to them to see if Leyshon was buried there too. The Cleveland Necrology File has a transcription of her obituary at http://dxsrv4.cpl.org/WebZ/QUERY?sessionid=01-3538-1226039767 Nancy You may have to register to use this site, but there's no fee to do so.
