    3. Yeah, that is basic to Jewish Genealogy. I have people in my tree whose name used on the census is different every single time! It gets aggravating, to say the least. But I'm sure this is them. It's the only Kasle in the database, and definitely the right first names, it's just the date and parental names that seem whacked out. Uh, just......like it doesn't matter. :( But for non-Jews as well, the same ideas about given name variation still need to be considered. There are nicknames and foreign accents to confound us and the census takers. And spelling variations of surnames. About.com has a good page about spelling and what is the right way to spell a name.
