Dear folks: I have not been able to find anything in 1860 census for my ancestor who emigrated 1854 from England and who had at least 2-3 children born Ohio. JOHN CLEMENTS and wife Mary, both born England, he 1822 and she 1818. by 1860 they had 2 children: both born Ohio -- Mary Elizabeth born 1856 and Edward born October 1859. John' s brother, William Clements [Clemens] in 1860 census is at Euclid. with wife Mary and 2 daughters: Phoebe 7, and Sarah 11/12. These two girls are later buried at Willoughby in 1862. and another daughter: Phebe Clements [father William ] was born "Willoughby" in 1863. I believe that JOHN CLEMENTS should also be near Euclid or Willoughby in 1860. I have tried every spelling and combination I can think of on Ancestry. Cant find them in ohio or anywhere! There was another grave at Willoughby: HERBERT CLEMENTS; age 1yr 11mo died January 13, 1863 son of J. and M Clements.[ "Herbert' is a family name] I really think they should be somewhere nearby! both John and his brother, William, have naturalization cards obtained at Cleveland, October 1863. Does anyone know any other way [especially online?] to view the 1860 Ohio census? I am stumped here! thanks Liz of BC Canada
Hi Liz, Do you know where they were at in 1880? I have heritage quest and I'm looking through the census and I find a John Clements age 57 born England and his son Edward born in Ohio age 21 in Union, Dodge, Nebraska in 1880. I ask this because of the Mormon movement from Lake County, Ohio between 1850 and 1860. A good many converts were from England. They went from Lake County through Illinios, Iowa, Nebraska and to Salt Lake City Utah are surrounding areas. Just curious as to if you have him in 1870 or 80 Cindy Family part of Mormon Movement --- On Thu, 12/4/08, harvieandliz <hebarker@shaw.ca> wrote: From: harvieandliz <hebarker@shaw.ca> Subject: [OHCUYAHO] any other source of 1860 census for Cuyahoga area?
