Is there a place on line to search for marriage records in Ohio? I'm trying to find confirmation of marriage of Andro (Andrew) Fill to Maria (Mary) Horbal on 11 Aug 1909. We believe Maria's (Mary) DOB to be 12 Jun 1892. Although we know they lived in Cleveland and were Russian Orthodox (St. Theodosius), we have been unable to find marriage records in Ohio or Pennsylvania. Maria is believed to have been a US Citizen who was born in Janesville or Hazelton or Wilkes Barre, PA but went back to Galicia with her parents when she was a small infant and did not return to the US until she was approximately 16 years old. We hit this marriage dead end several years ago are now attempting, again, to find the marriage records. Any help would be appreciated. Ellyn Fill Marietta, GA
Ellyn, Ando didn't get here until 1906, he came in through New York. In 1920 his daughter is 9 so it might be safe to say he met his wife and married in PA and then came through to Ohio. Since he has two brothers Peter and Hritz (harry) and neither of them come up they may have married before they came to the U.S. both their wives were also from Galicia Cindy --- On Sun, 10/5/08, Ellyn <ellynf@mindspring.com> wrote: From: Ellyn <ellynf@mindspring.com> Subject: [OHCUYAHO] Marriage Records: Fill/Horbal 1909 To: ohcuyaho@rootsweb.com Date: Sunday, October 5, 2008, 3:25 PM Is there a place on line to search for marriage records in Ohio? Yes, thanks. That is one of the 3 cities that I have for her from different records. I knew Steve Fill and he confirmed that he did not know that birth city 'for certain'. PA records are kept by county and I've searched several of them; unfortunately I bumped into lots of 'records burned' situations. I have not revisited the PA locations in several years. -----Original Message----- From: ohcuyaho-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ohcuyaho-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Susan Sent: Monday, October 06, 2008 1:40 AM To: ohcuyaho@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [OHCUYAHO] Marriage Records: Fill/Horbal 1909 >From her death certificate - her birth date 14 Nov 1892 Hazelton, Pennsylvania informant was Stephen Fill Susan http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=2;t=searchable ;c=700227 --- On Sun, 10/5/08, Ellyn <ellynf@mindspring.com> wrote: From: Ellyn <ellynf@mindspring.com> Subject: [OHCUYAHO] Marriage Records: Fill/Horbal 1909 To: ohcuyaho@rootsweb.com Date: Sunday, October 5, 2008, 3:25 PM Is there a place on line to search for marriage records in Ohio?
