Valerie - There is a probate file (common pleas Probate Dkt A, Case 418) (Mayfield Twp Ohio) which pertains to an Estate Bond for Daniel Sheldon (var. David Sheldon) dated 17 Mar 1835 which lists Elizabeth (probably his widow) and children: Champlin, Lucy, Mary Jane and Squire. Based on this information and your request Mary Jane would have been about three years old at her father's death. Also in 1848 a Parley Sheldon apparently then or earlier had no minor children which would eliminate your Mary Jane. I thought her dad could be Parley Sheldon (1811 from NY) who lived in warrensville ( one of his daughter is Mary Jane I have two census in 1850 Mary Jane Sheldon married to James Covert ( she is 18) in Mayfield Cuyahoga OHIO and a Mary Jane Sheldon daughter of Parley Sheldon ( age 14) in warrenswille Cuyahogo, OHIo. sooo I am lost. any body knows any of those people and could give me a hand. I just found those informations. James COVERT was born 18 May 1783 in , Essex, New Jersey and was christened 1797 in Moved To, Seneca, New York. He died in Mayfield, Cuyahoga, Ohio. He was sealed to his parents on 25 Sep 1970 in the Idaho Falls temple. James was baptized 3 Nov 1967. He was endowed 23 Feb 1968 in the Idaho Falls temple. James married Martha JUDD about 1805 in Ovid, Seneca, New York. They were sealed 19 Nov 1969 in the Idaho Falls temple. Martha JUDD was born about 1784 in Watertown, Litchfield, Connecticut. She died 1833 in Mayfield, Cuyahoga, Ohio. She was sealed to her parents on 15 Dec 1969. Martha was baptized 21 May 1895 in the Salt Lake temple. Her endowment is done. Martha married James COVERT about 1805 in Ovid, Seneca, New York. They were sealed 19 Nov 1969 in the Idaho Falls temple. Would someone explain to me what endowment is, when baptism is mentionned what kind is that? Would they have convert to the mormons? Thanks Valerie
