I sure found alot with your help. I am trying to track the marriage of my gg, his brother, Shubael Edgar Swain. He was a NYC lawyer, not a Catholic, but married an Irish Catholic woman. Where is the question, as I can't pin down anything definate about it or her before marriage. About him I know alot. Since his father died, after moving up to Ohio from NYC, to be with Valentine, and the city directories and logic lead you to believe that Shubael Edgar was up there for his father's illness and death, it is just possible that he may have met and married his wife up there. Probably the entire family would have come up for the funeral, or before. His wife's name was Catherine Nagle. I did look on Ancestry for Nagles up there with not much luck. So this is a long shot in the dark. I am writing to NYC Catholic churches, but thought I would give this possibility a try also. I forget where I have to look or write to to get a marriage record. I did one for Valentine several years ago- Thanks, Sue Maxwell ------------------------------ Message: 5 Date: Mon, 18 Jan 2010 19:01:39 -0500 From: Eliz Hanebury <elizhgene@gmail.com> Subject: Re: [OHCUYAHO] possible marriage in Cleveland To: ohcuyaho@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <e7cade161001181601r55926544r152848b342344be6@mail.gmail.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Courtview 2000 or familysearch.org http://opengen.net/usa/states/ohio/vital-record-batch-numbers pick Cuyahoga then year http://probate.cuyahogacounty.us/ml/ Eliz On Mon, Jan 18, 2010 at 11:58 AM, Sue Maxwell <suemaxwell@comcast.net> wrote: > I was on this list a few months ago learning how to access info about my > ggg grandfather and one of his sons, Valentine Swain.
