Hi folks -- Long time since I joined the discussion. Still looking for info on my grandfather Dominick Kane/O'Kane, especially his "pro" boxing career. Dominick's family, including parents and sister, lived in Cleveland from about 1890 to 1940s. He came and went from area 1890 to about 1920 or so. Have found one mention of a bout he fought/lost against Gus "The Akron Giant" Ruhlin in 1896 (maybe 1893) in Cleveland. http://cyberboxingzone.com/boxing/ruhlin-g.htm Would be very grateful for help in checking the Cleveland newspapers of that period to see if there are reports of any of his presumed other fights (or this one too). No local libraries or archives in Seattle area have any of the early Cleveland newspapers, so haven't been able to do much here. Many thanks, Tim, Seattle
