There is a St. Mary's Cemetery on Clark and W.41st. in Cleveland. Very well kept and doesn't take much to walk thru it. My family is buried there. The records are held by Holy Cross Cemetery. St. Mary's is not far from St. Michaels Church on Scranton. The neighborhood is not the best anymore but not too bad...Lynda

The old Assumption of Mary cemetary is still open. It is located on Brookpark road near W.150th, acroos the street from the newer Holy Cross cemetary. It has the same hours as all the other Catholic cemetaries. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Derek Dingledine" <d.dingledine@sms-demag.ca> To: <OHCUYAHO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, December 10, 2004 11:46 AM Subject: [OHCUYAHO] St Mary's Cemetery > This is a long shot, but can someone tell me if St Mary's Cemetery in > Cleveland has be read. > > I am looking for a Ludwig Dingeldein and family that lived on what looks to > be Howlett Ave (1920 Census) in Cleveland > > Any thoughts would be appreciated > > Derek Dingledine > > > ==== OHCUYAHO Mailing List ==== > Reminder: Please do not send GEDCOM's or large files to the list. > These must be sent to the user who requested them. Please excuse duplication. Cross-posted to multiple lists. Hi, all. This was sent out on another listserv I belong to and I think it's important for all of us to pass on, as birth certificates are invaluable to our research. New Bill Will Close Records to Genealogists HR10, which was mentioned in the 13 October issue of RootsWeb Review, has passed out of the U.S. House of Representatives and is now part of S.2845. The amendments suggested by David Rencher in his letter to the bill's sponsor, Congressman J. Dennis Hastert, were NOT incorporated into this legislation. Thus, the terms of HR10 will now be considered by the Senate, as part of S.2845. If S.2845 becomes law, as now written, family historians will face some real challenges in attempts to obtain birth records, even on long- deceased individuals. Specifically, what genealogists need to do is suggest to their lawmakers the addition of Sec. 3061(b)(1)(A)(iii) that would read: "who is alive on the date that access to their birth certificate is requested." This addition would clarify that the legislation (soon to be law) applies ONLY to birth certificates of CURRENTLY LIVING PERSONS. If you do not know your U.S. Senator's e-mail address, you can find it at http://www.senate.gov/ This bill can be found online at http://thomas.loc.gov/ Put in S.2845 (in the bill number window) and then select item No. 3; and go to Subtitle B--Identity Management Security; Chapter 2--Improved Security for Birth Certificates. Please pass this on to other lists you may belong to and other genealogists you know. _________________________________________________________________ On the road to retirement?
