If you enter a surname and an asterisk for the given name, the results will include your surname and anything that is longer (ie. Williams is entered, results give back Williams, Williamson, etc.) So sometimes entering just a few letters of the last name might help you find a name that is likely to have had variations in spelling. Also, it seems that it was common to transfer deeds in the name of the wife, so the husband isn't always mentioned, so bear that in mind when you are looking at the long list of results. Check out Grandma's name if you see something that looks like it. I'd like to add that sometimes the deeds are filed under the name of the executor of the estate! This makes them almost impossible to find unless you know who bought the property from your family. And glory Halleleuiah to Cuyahoga County for putting this stuff online. I've been having a field day with it. It has answered so many questions I had.... Sandy

    3. Paul, Here is my secret. I never view the deeds on line. I click on the document link, then when that comes up and the second window for viewing the document comes up I right click on the link, use "save target as" and put them in a special folder on my desktop. I don't like the viewer they use on the website, so I view them later using my windows for imaging software I have with windows98. It will give me all pages at once. If it is not a deed for my family, I simply delete it. That way all my deeds are together in one place and easy to find.
