Hi, Her name was Julia Tuttle. Her father was John Tuttle. He was born in NY, circa 1835. His parents were English. Julia was actually Emma's age. My great grandmother, Magdelena Rawlins had an autograph book. It appears that the girls may have gone to school together. There are several relatives in the book however. Magdelena's father was a "suger inspector". This John Tuttle was living in Flatbush. Bev W.
If you mean Brooklyn New York, I would say probably not. Frank Tuttle's dad was George B. Tuttle who was born 1824, probably in Ohio, but possibly in New York [ however more in the Chautauqua NY area] . I have nothing on George's parents or siblings - a real brick wall. What was the name of your grandma's Tuttle friend? REgards, Barb
Is there a possibility that your Tuttle family originally came from Brooklyn to Ohio? My ggrandmother lived in Brooklyn until 1883. She was 12 when her family moved to Philadelphia, however she had a close friend who was a Tuttle. Oddly, by the mid 1890s, her sister Emma Rawlins Issel moved with her husband Carl Issel to Cleveland. Emma's mother, Maria Heck Rawlins Pfeiff also joined them. I couldn' t help wondering if there was some family connection between your Tuttle family and my Rawlins line,as the name is so unusual. It is a very "long shot" but I couldn't help asking. Bev W.

Hello Lists, I'm seeking information on members of the Hilliard Lambirght family. H. M. married Clara Forney in 1879, and they had a daughter Sadie who married John T. Resch sometime in Cleveland. Sadie and John had to children that I found living with H.M. & Clara Lambright in the 1930 census: Hilliard Resch and Rosemary Resch. I found Rosemary married to Robert H Taylor. Any help in locating family members would be appreciated. Thank you Roberta Parshall, ND
Thanks to everyone on the list who had replied to my message of help. I now have a great deal of new information on the BULLINGER families in Berea, Ohio. It looks like that with the death of Otto A. BULLINGER in 1942 that this family line no longer exists in the Cleveland area. I will now have to check the 1930 census to be sure. Again thanks for your help, it is greatly appreciated. I found this information on the Bullinger family: Otto Bullinger married Mary Walther, then later married Rosa Hummel.
I am new to the list. I am researching two of my greatgreatUncles, brothers, who emigrated from the village of Ingersheim Wuerttemberg Germany to Berea/Cleveland Ohio in 1854 and 1865. This is what I know about them: Johann Georg BULLINGER was born in 1828 and emigrated in 1854. I don't know when he was married but his wife name was Catherine, surname unknown. She was born in 1843 IN Baden Germany. They had four children, Otto A. born 1863, Helene born 1867, Rosa born 1871 and Emma born 1877. Otto's wife was named Rose, surname unknown and they had a son Harry who was born in 1906. Emma was married to a Ernst Weber who was born in Germany in 1869, location unknown. The 1910 and 1920 census reports show that her mother, a widow at that time, was living with Emma and Ernst. The 1900 Cleveland City directory show that they were living at 22 Height. Georg Frederich BULLINGER at the age of 29 emigrated in 1865. A year later on April 15, 1866 in Cuyahoga county he married Rosina STRIGER who was just 16 years of age. From my research of census reports from 1870, 1880 and 1900 they had no children. I would be interesting in knowing if anyone on this list is also researching this surname. Ernie Kuemmerer

Andy: C.L. Kaufmann & Son Funeral Home was still operating in 1956. My grandfather had his funeral there. It is no longer in operation though, but the building is still standing. I don't know where the records would be, but at least thought I'd let you know it's out of business. Good luck.
