    2. I just bought the above news paper from Ebay, not bad for 150 years old <G> there isn't a lot of genealogy related items but some estate administrations and some Railroad Ads, you can not believe the number of Cleveland Something Something RRs there are <G> The first item I sent to the Ships List was a para about Morman Immigrants being rerouted from New Orleans to the Northern Ports due to sickness on the Mississippi. I will try to do some tonight. I am thinking of doing a listing of names from the ads, not the whole ad just the name [I am finding the print very small *G*] Eliz

    1. Raymond & Kathleen VANIDOUR
    2. Robert Vanidour
    3. I am seeking help in gaining information on Raymond and Kathleen VANIDOUR. They are referenced on Ancestry.com and census records. Ray was a sailor, born in Amhersburg, Ont, and good friends with Harry Coulby of the ship of the same name. He shows on the 1930 census for Cleveland and was supposedly highly connected with the Interlake Steamship Line of Cleveland. Kathleen, nee FOX, was born in 1890 and died Dec 13 1996. Ray was her 2nd husband and she brought into the marriage a son named Ridgley whom Ray adopted. They both show in Cleveland in the early 1900's and Kathleen seems to have been quite the socialite. Ridgley, with whom I had correspondence for a few years, recently died in Germany. Unfortunately while he gave me some great information they are just leads but little in answers. I do not know when Raymond died. He may have died in the 1930 in England but I can find nothing to confirm/deny that. I have tried to obtain a Cleveland newspaper to get Kathleen's obit but I can't get it through interlibrary for out of country. With her having lived to 106 years an amazing story must exist on her that would give me an idea/lead to more info on Raymond. Even on her 100th there must have been a profile. So my question is for assistance in obtaining an obit for Kathleen. Can someone assist me. Robert G. Vanidour London Canada

    3. I have come across a cache of old Cleveland family pictures which are being scanned for electronic copy. Two may be of general interest. Picture #1 shows a group of 30 some workmen posed outside a large factory or possibly firehouse type building. It has 2 large swinging front doors obviously made for large objects to pass. My great-grandfather is included and I can bracket the date of the picture between 1874-1889. Picture #2 shows the Rev Casmir Reichlin who married my grandmother in 1896. The back is also captured and advertises religious items. I would be interested in someone identifying the #1 building. If interested in either or both of these pictures please request using my e-mail address and not the Cuyahoga address. Joe Schartman

    3. I am trying to help Janett get enough names and support to start a decendents of Civil War Ohio Squirrel Hunters group. There seems to be very little information regarding the Squirrel Hunters except for a couple of counties which have published lists of veterans on line and some rather short discussions. I have both a greatgrandfather and a great uncle who served and would like to know more myself. If you have a relative, or suspect that you have a relative, who served with the Squirrel Hunters contact Janett at jcall@cros.net and let her know. Bob

    2. What time period are we talking about for the great aunt? I am 62 and my Mother and Dad had friends when I was young, a Leonard and Rose Steiger. Leonard could possibly have been related to her.I used to live in Parma, Ohio and they lived in Brooklyn. I remember his wife's maiden name was Koch. Her mother lived with them and died when I was young. They lived on Portman Avenue next to the Broadview cemetery. I hope this is a piece for your puzzle.Oh, I remember, they attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Brooklyn. Virginia

    1. Bullinger Lions Berea, Ohio
    2. I am still researching my two great great uncles who emigrated to Berea, Ohio from Ingersheim Wuerttemberg Germany. Germanbob provided me with some information that was new to me, thank you Bob. That Friedrich BULLINGER had built the Bullinger Building on Factory Street (Rocky River Drive) in the Berea Triangle. On top of the building stood two lions that local residents nicknamed Fred and Rosie after him and his wife (nee Rosina Steiger). These lions are now at the entrance to the Berea Historical Society. I send a email message to the Berea Historical Society last month for additional information and am waiting for their reply. There is an article that appeared in The Berea News on December 12, 1967, p.1 titled Lions and Faces on Bullinger Bldg. to remain.................. My question is: How can I get a copy of that newspaper article? Thanks Ernie Kuemmerer
