That's too bad. Sounds like the surname might have been misspelled. Surely there was a notice in the paper. Hello Katie. I would like to look up the following family in Cleveland in 1942 : DOUHET Thanks, Charles Dans un e-mail daté du 10/02/2005 00:55:21 Paris, Madrid, Ohcps@aol.com a écrit : EUCLID 1942
P.S. Ridge had also mentioned that Ray was not buried Catholic which he was born, much to the chagrin of his family and sisters. The sisters are both dead and I have only been able to find a deceased daughter to the one. The other is a mystery but he was in touch with them. Ridge had no children. The proximity statement was my thought also. Some of the items on Ancestry refer to Lorain and Kathleen as a fundraiser for the YMCA and private parties for sororities. The info on Ray, which you sent, I too had plus what I was able to acquire form Amherstburg. The yahoo address is my alternate for that site due too spam. I know that he was in Milwaukee in 1932 per a newspaper article his son, Ridgley, had sent me. So he was still alive then. But Ridge never mentioned were or when he died in his letters or phone conversations. Ridge had returned to the US prior to his mothers death in 1996 and lived in Colorado after .Then returned to Germany, the home of his wife and where he had been for 40 yrs, where he died in Aug. 2003. His widow, never having had anything to do with his family let alone meet them before, just feels that she is back with her kin-leave it at that. Don't really blame her. She can live on his army pension quite comfortably in Germany. Ridge had also sent me a picture of Ray with Harry in front of the "Harry Coulby" and was initially a chef on board for the private guest's.One of whom, per the newspaper article, was Sir Henry Lipton. Eventually he became integral to Interlake, per these letters, in designing many of the fleet that Interlake owned. Also according to Ridge he chefed in the fine/est restaurants in Cleveland and New York. This he must have done off season. So there must be some record or source I could get into to that would give me more then what is on the net or already accumulated. Hence why Kathleen's obit may be the best resource--if I can find it. I'm sending you the following of the work I have done too date beyond the Rootsweb site your were at. http://www.nhb.com/hunter/Vanorder.pdf Robert Vanidour London Canada ----- Original Message ----- From: <Etwistedsister89@aol.com> To: <OHCUYAHO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, February 10, 2005 7:49 PM Subject: Re: [OHCUYAHO] Raymond & Kathleen VANIDOUR > In a message dated 2/10/2005 7:32:52 PM Eastern Standard Time, > rgvanidour@execulink.com writes: > I387 Name: Kathleen FOX Given Name: Kathleen Surname: Fox Sex: F > Birth: 16 JUL 1890 in Lorain,Ohio Death: 13 DEC 1996 in Lorain,Ohio > > the above is on ancestry.com on the "family tree" > > > But Lorain is So close and he did live in Cleveland in 1930 SO it seems we > have not tried the census or did you?? I too was beginning to assume that Ray WAS only a visitor to Cleveland since I have never been able to find anything out of Lorain short of what is on Ancestry and SSDI and the letters I received form his son. They total five before he died. I was on the Lorain list last fall and the Lorain Public Library couldn't find anything either. The same problem with Cleveland's. There must be some resource that I am not aware that could assist me. I don't understand what you're looking for because Kathleen died in Lorain, Ohioo and not in Cleveland, see below: Marriage 1 Kathleen FOX b: 16 JUL 1890 in Lorain,Ohio ID: I387 Name: Kathleen FOX Given Name: Kathleen Surname: Fox Sex: F Birth: 16 JUL 1890 in Lorain,Ohio Death: 13 DEC 1996 in Lorain,Ohio the above is on ancestry.com on the "family tree" part.with a lot of other information. at first I thought maybe it was you with another email address, but since it is you who is looking, I'll just supply the email address that was listed: rgvanidour@yahoo.ca Seems to me like Raymond only visited Cleveland. Hi would you please see if the name Nottke is in this directory. Thanks Barbara
Hi everyone, While sorting through some of my Dad's genealogy stuff, I came upon the 1942 Official City Directory. If anyone would like a lookup, please email me directly and put EUCLID 1942 in the subject line. Katie Karrick (The Cemetery Lady) P.S. I am gathering together some of the resource materials my Dad collected and will be offering them at a garage sale later in the spring. I'll let you know when.

There are 19 of them in the 1930 Census for Ohio. What are their 1st names?
I have been in contact with the Cleveland Public Library and unfortunately they do not have an obit on Kathleen Vanidour. They did have an article on Harry Coulby and the Picklands Mather Co. which became the Interlake Steamship Line in the early 1900's. (IF my memory is correct) They are sending it to me. I an interested in a Leimkuehler look up? Have a Nice Day! Jill
