Where do i get a link to get free marriage records? Thank you Jim
I am looking for the date of death of JULIA BLAZEK (JOSEPHINE). She was born in Bohemia about 1856 and married a Nicholas Blazek. He died in 1899 and is buried in Woodland Cemetery. In the 1930 census she lived with Ansezejewski family as a boarder. I cannot find any info after that date. If you can help or offer any suggestions for discovering when she died it would be greatly appreciatefd. Could this be it: http://www.ohiohistory.org/dindex/ BLAZEK, Josephi Death date: 1/3/1933, Cuyahoga County Volume #7104, Certificate #1148 Nothing comes up using Julia! Josephi(ne); they only had so much room on the death certificates that a long name is not always complete! ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, March 14, 2007 4:38 PM Subject: Re: [OHCUYAHO] Live out-of-state and need help in Cuyahoga County? >I am looking for the date of death of JULIA BLAZEK (JOSEPHINE). -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Tue, 6 Mar 2007 7:55 PM Subject: Re: [OHCUYAHO] Live out-of-state and need help in Cuyahoga County?thank you so much for all this great information.i need to start applying a little more reasoning to my searches. Peggy's been finding some really terific stuff!! Good work, lady! I have just a little bit, but I have more questions <sorry grin>. I sent some of this to the list at about 1:00, and now after 7:00, it still hasn't appeared in my inbox..... Usually takes a few minutes, not many hours, so I suspect it may have gotten lost or delayed in cyberspace. If the short original eventually shows up on the list, I do apologize for the duplication. I'm repeating a couple of things so that the pieces can be next to each other for comparison. Id#: 0277397 Name: Phillips, Minnie Date: Jun 29 1949 Source: Source unknown; Cleveland Necrology File, Reel #064. Notes: Phillips, Minnie (nee Briscoe), 9110 Blaine Ave.; June 27; beloved wife of Harry; mother of Howard Bernard Phillips, Maybelle Luis of Cleveland, Charlotte Hendricks of Los Angeles, Cal. Friends may call at the House of Wills, where funeral services will be conducied Thursday at 2:30 p. m. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park. Id#: 0671684 Name: Phillips, Howard B. Date: Jun 8 1968 Source: Cleveland Press; Cleveland Necrology File, Reel #144. Notes: Phillips. Howard B. Phillips, dear husband of Maude, father of Lois Moore of Los Angeles and Douglas, brother of Sharlotte Mosby of Los Angeles and Mabel Luis, grandfather and uncle. Services Monday 1 P. M. at Antioch Baptist Church. Family will receive friends at The E. F. Boyd and Son Funeral Home, 2165 E. 89th St. On Sunday 7-9 P. M. Allowing for some variants in the girls' names [Charlotte/Sharlotte would be Lottie in the 1910 census and Mabel/Maybelle would have been our Mabel G in that census], this clearly seems to be son Howard. *The most exciting for clues on finding living relatives are:* It is likely that Mrs. Mabel (Phillips) Luis and her brother Howard's son Douglas Phillips were somewhere roughly around the Cleveland area as late as 1968, although possibly not in Cleveland itself. Mrs. Charlotte (Phillips) Hendricks was already in Los Angeles in 1949. She later married someone named Mosby before 1968. And Howard's daughter Mrs Lois (Phillips) Moore was in Los Angeles before 1968. Both families were undoubtedly in contact out there. Howard's obit says he is 'grandfather and uncle'. So either son Douglas or daughter Lois, or both, had children. Also, at least one of Howard's siblings had children. As late as 1968, at least part of the family was associated with Antioch Baptist Church, probably on the near east side of Cleveland. If this church still exists, there may be records of this family. For that matter, family may still be members....... Contact the church. If Minnie was buried in Evergreen Memorial Park, there may been other family burials there, including family we haven't stumbled across so far. Contact the cemetery. Peggy found: > In 1930, Harry L. Phillips was 64, >and lived with his wife Minnie, and children, Lee B. Phillips, Charlotte D. >Phillips, Jessie M. Phillips, as well as his brother-in-law, Corwin C. Gossett >(meaning that Minnie's maiden name was probably Gossett). Her obit said 'Briscoe', so Gossett may have been a half-brother. Or Corwin Gossett may have been married to one of Minnie's sisters. Not uncommon to have a relative move up, get settled in a job, and then move the family. >could not find address book but did look back at ancestry.com in the 1910 >Cuyhoga, ohio Cleveland ,ward 26-found harry lee phillips(49) ,minnie m.(40)Lee >Bernard(21,Howard(17,Mabel G.(17)Lottie(5),Jessie(3) all listed as >mulattoes.he was a contractor and bernard is an apprentice in masonry.the youngest 3 >born in ohio ,the mother in pa.and i think the first 2 boys were born in va.so >harry was born 1860 Yep, Harry L. was apparently born in the 1860s. Per the 1930 census, he was b prox 1866. Per the 1910, he was b prox 1861. The later one might be the most trustworthy....... Many a young man 'aged' by about 5 years when he moved to the city on his own. Miscellaneous questions: Must admit, I am curious about Jessie. She is in the census with her folks in 1930 at age abt age 33, and yet is not mentioned in either later obit. I suspect she may have died before Minnie, but that is just an assumption. Some families do not include mentions of deceased family members in obits. I just don't know. I am also wondering about possible Bernard confusions..... In the 1910 census, there is an elder Lee Bernard and a younger Howard no middle name. In the 1930 census, there is clearly a Lee B., about 41. In Minnie's obit in 1949 there is a Howard Bernard, but no Lee mentioned. I guess I am wondering if Lee Bernard had died between 1930 and 1949, and if Howard had taken his older brother's use-name as his middle name. It's not impossible that people named one son Lee Bernard and another son Harold Bernard....... Just sets off a small red flag in my head to be careful, I guess. The 'Bernard' in your dad's early address book was likely to have been Lee Bernard, who went by Bernard. Especially since he seemed to be still in and close with his parents as an adult. But we still haven't found out about what happened to Lee Bernard after 1930. Hope things go well in finding the nowadays folks. Dear Listers, Are there any list members who live in Buffalo, Erie County, NY who might be willing to help me locate the first papers (Declaration of Intention) for a member of my family. I have the person's name, time frame (1859-1885) and the specific court (Superior Court of Buffalo) where the papers were filed. A microfilm search need to be done. I am located too far away to do the search on foot and phone calls to the Clerks Office have not been productive. Thank you for any help that is forthcoming. Bette
Are there any listers who live in this county? I need copy of first papers filed in courthouse, hoping to obtain date/port of arrival. Thank you for any help, Carole Lubbers Marietta, Ga.
