I found my great grandfather online at the WRHS site but when I requested the form from the Cuyahoga Co. Archives they didn't have it. It's not all inclusive. I then went to RAOGK and asked if someone going to WRHS would do a lookup for me and sure enough the actual registartion book is there. They copied me the information and sent it to me. So if you find them online but not at the archives, WRHS has the book. What I mean is that the voter registration has other info not online, that's just the index. On the registration is name, address, term of residence in state, term of residence in county, term of residence in precinct, Nativity, Naturalization date and court. My great grandfather for some reason that I don't know was registered by his grandson, his signature is on the paper and he did speak English. But his grandson went with him. I didn't know that it contained all that information, thanks for pointing it out. Also, for others, I have searched on this site before and tried to do a wildcard, such as aga* but when I just put in aga all names starting with aga came up. I just found ggrandfather whom died in 1917, can't wait to make a trip there now! Cindy, Thanks for posting the information re your experience in obtaining the actual 1907 Cuyahoga County voter registration. I live too far away to visit the Archives & the WRHS so I have tried, without success, to find someone who can do for me what you were able to do. Can you provide me with the name/email address for the RAOGK contact person that helped you out? You can apply, but would receive a page from the death journal. A regular birth certificate is available starting in 1908. Still good information to have. Jackie Fales Elkins, AR ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
Are there Cleveland Voter Registration Records for viewing out there? Know that 1907 records are available, but I need records before that time (1895-1901). Thanks, Lynne ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
Is it possible to obtain a Death Certificate for March 25, 1905(John B. Cavanaugh). Died at City Hospital - Cleveland. I've tried the Cuyahoga County site with no luck. Thank You. Greg Monette Oswego, NY

Hi Nancy: Ok, the closest I have to the 1914-1916 timeframe that you think your grandfather graduated in is the 1914-1915 city directory listing. The east side high schools were: Central High E. 55th south of Cedar Avenue Collinwood High St. Clair Ave. at the corner of Ivanhoe Rd. East High E. 82nd at the corner of Decker Ave. East High School of Commerce E. 120th at the corner of Moulton East Technical High E. 55th at the corner of Scovill Glenville High 495 Parkwood Blvd. at the corner of Everton South High Broadway opposite Fullerton Ave. Central Manual Training 5805 Cedar Ave. near E. 55th St. Charter Oak Manual Training Broadway corner of E. 65th. Since you have a Collinwood address, I would guess he would have attended Collinwood High - just a guess. The above schools are all public schools. Of course, he might have also attended a parochial school. I hope that this might help you a little. At least you now know which public high schools existed at that time. Good luck. Wow, thanks Laura. My grandfathers name was Mortimer Right Myers. He was born Oct 7, 1897 in Cleveland. One address I have is in 10 Villa Beach in Collinwood.. I know that he was in the military in 1917 and that he graduated from U. Penn in 1924. I'm thinking he would have graduated from HS around 1914-1916.
