The Black River Genealogists will host the Lorain County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society in a joint meeting on Thursday, June 7 - 7:00 PM Main Branch of the Lorain Public Library - Sixth St. and Reid Ave., Lorain. Upstairs, Room A" In celebration of the Black River Township (Lorain) Bicentennial 1807-2007, Dave Cotton and Loraine Ritchey of the Bicentennial Committee will present the program, "Captain Thomas Wilford: Charleston Village Pioneer"    Dave has researched Capt. Wilford's life in detail, and impersonates him in this program; he has been active for many years in the Workshop Players in Amherst.  Loraine, a native of England, is president of the Charleston Village Society, Inc. (CVSI), a group interested in the history & renovation of the downtown Lorain area -- formerly known as "Charleston Village" -- and spearheading the 2007 Black River Bicentennial celebration.
