Bob, consider searching Google Books which can be accessed by searching for that term on http://www.google.com The Google Books site has an advanced search feature where you can create various searches using different search terms or restrictive searches. Play around with it, and you might find some records, or a book with information for the locale involved. I've had some good success this winter finding strays in my research. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: June 16, 2007 10:22 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [OHCUYAHO] Thanks Thanks to all of you for trying to help. This Cora Sinclair isn't the one we are looking for. Once again we hit a dead end -- the story of our life as to Cora. Cora was a Brown before she married J. Howard Sinclair. Cora was born 1882 +/- a year in PA. We do know that in the late 50s or early 60s she was living in Ohio somewhere very near to the expressway going from Toledo to Pittsburgh, She probably married a Mr. Oswald and died under the name of Oswald. This appears to be the obit for the Cora you found in the Ohio Deaths. This obit is from the Cleveland Public Library's Necrology file at www.cpl.org Id#: 0724423 Name: Sinclair, Cora Date: Feb 12 1968 Source: Plain Dealer; Cleveland Necrology File, Reel #156. Notes: Sinclair. Cora Sinclair (nee Smucker), beloved wife of Irving Mac D., dear mother of Phillip A. of Toledo, O., grandmother of Charles and Victoria, sister of Mrs. Kate Harris of Bellefontaine, O., and Mrs. Edith Lee of Massillon, O., and Will Smucker of Bellefontaine, O., residence, 2570 Struhar Dr., Rocky River. Cora Sinclair is my wife's grand mother. Cora's husband J. Howard Sinclair died in 1937 and shortly after that Cora disappeared and was only heard from when she sent her grandchildren a Christmas card with a couple dollars -- even that stopped after a short time. She was living with a Mr. Oswald somewhere in Ohio probably not too far from Cleveland. We don't think she was married to him but could have been. We have been trying to find something about her for many years with no luck until I ran across the following Ohio Deaths 1958-2002. Cora S. Sinclair DOB est 1887 Residence City; Rocky River Residence County; Cuyahoga State; Ohio Died 9 Feb 1968 Hospital of death -- Long-term Care Facilities. City; Bay Village. Martial Status -- Married Does anyone know of a long-term Care Facility in Bay Village in 1968? Is it still in operation. Are there Cemeteries Books in the Rocky River to see where she was buried? Does any one have suggestion on how to follow this up to see if this Cora Sinclair was my wife's grandmother? Bob Killebrew 153 Sand Dr. Naples Fl. 34104 239-643-2981 [email protected] </HTML>
Hi, Please try rootsweb.com/~ohcagg.com for naturalization records. Use area links. There was a Frank Luczi who was naturalized Dec 2, 1902 born in Hungary Jan 2, 1874 and arrived May 3, 1888. His address was 154 Orange St Cleveland Ohio. The was also a Alix Luczak,(Austria) and Matthew Luczak ( Germany). Petition number for Frank is 20037 court of common pleas in Cuyahoga County. Naturalization records are at our county Archives. Carolyn Vigneulle

Thanks Jim but that's the same info I provided to the OHCuyahoga group. What I'm looking for is more like census info., and, I have ancestry.com at the moment, but I can't find them there in the census records. So I was asking the group if they were familiar with any Loczaks or knew or heard of any with the names I mentioned. Thanks again. christie [email protected] wrote: Popping around on Ancestry while it is quiet here in the library (it seldom is anymore), I did find entries in the Ohio Death Index for both individuals: Frank Luczak Death Date: 2 Oct 1912 County of Death: Cuyahoga Vol: 896 File: 52.994 Frank Loczak Death Date: 24 June 1914 County of Death: Cuyahoga Vol: 1386 Certificate: 32642 I also found for the same date -- Frank Lejcek Death Date: 24 June 1914 County of Death: Cuyahoga Vol: 1388 Certificate: 33180 Still browsing... ----- Original Message ----- > Message: 8 > Date: Wed, 13 Jun 2007 16:31:37 -0700 (PDT) > From: CHRISTIE FOX > Subject: Re: [OHCUYAHO] Luczak/Loczak question > To: [email protected] > Message-ID: <[email protected]> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 > > Hi group. > > In my family tree there is a Franz Luczak, and we have > determined that he arrived with his family on the Donau (ship's > manifest proves that) under the name of Franz Loczak in 1887 thru > Baltimore, and we know he died 8/8/1892 in Cuyahoga County, so > this first listed one is ours. Hi group. In my family tree there is a Franz Luczak, and we have determined that he arrived with his family on the Donau (ship's manifest proves that) under the name of Franz Loczak in 1887 thru Baltimore, and we know he died 8/8/1892 in Cuyahoga County, so this first listed one is ours. Would appreciate if anyone could locate the other two names listed as I have not been able to find them. Thanks ahead. christie [email protected] : Franz Loczak, Frank Luczak (ours) died August 8, 1892 Cuyahoga County in an accident, he was about 55 when he died. I thought it had been unusually quiet also, even thou it is summertime. I did check the archives for the list and apparently there have been none posted since June 8. This has always been such an active list that it is odd to go that long without any messages, but maybe more folks are traveling right now. ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
