Anna, The I.O.O.F. stands for The Independent Order of Odd Fellows is a secret fraternal society that evolved in late 18th century England. The origin of the name Odd Fellows cannot be traced. The American order was founded in 1819. In 1980, the lodge had a world wide membership of 1,200,000. The K of P is: The Order of Knights of Pythias is an international non-sectarian fraternal order, founded in 1864, and was the first to be chartered by an act of Congress. The Fraternal Order of Knights of Pythias and its members are dedicated to the cause of universal peace. Pythians are pledged to the promotion of understanding among men of good will as the surest means of attaining Universal Peace. We believe that men, meeting in a spirit of goodwill, in an honest effort of understanding, can live together on this earth in peace and harmony.
