Please note my new email address. Quite a good many year ago i ran an ad in the newspaper in Batavia. The ad said in so many words.. I would give a one hundred dollar reward to any one who could furnish PROOF of the parents of SANFORD ALLEN GELVIN. The reward still stands. Sanford was born in about 1821 probably in Neville or Washington twp. Jeremiah GELVIN who also lived there and was the age to be the father married 2nd Temperance LEGGETT and there are LEGGETTs in Kentucky. (Montgomery, Bath or Bourbon Co.,) Sanford was the Mayor of Neville and on the school board. He married Lydia PRIMMER daui. of William PRIMMER. He and Lydia were buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Neville. In Neville and Washington twp. there is a James Gelvin owned land in 1812, was in 1820 census with Jeremiah (two different houses) in 1830 is only Jeremiah and then there is Sanford and Jeremiah (two different houses). His death certificate does not give his parents. I do not know who buried him and if any of this is in the Newspapers. I have looked for fifty years for this man. Any takers???? Thank you, June
