Hi , I want to thank Dee Franz for pointing me in the direction of the Milford Historical Society and also giving me their phone number. I called them in regards to where my ancestor William Cooper lived. All I knew was that according to the 1850 census, he lived next to (or across from) the Lewis Gatch family. The folks at the Historical society called me yesterday and said they had found approximately where this was. It turned out to be in the vicinity of Greenlawn Cemetary, Clertoma and the car dealership. They said that although the houses were no longer standing, they drove over there, got out and walked around looking for any traces of them. They didn't know me from Adam, yet they did this for me! You people in Milford are very lucky to have such people in your Greater Milford Historical Society. The woman who called me yesterday said that they have a nice library in Promont House so if any of you are looking for Milford area ancestors, it might be worth your while to check them out.
