Symmes Twp is in Hamilton Co. Parts of what once was Symmes Twp. have been annexed by Loveland (the city) of which involves 3 counties, Hamilton, Warren & Clermont. In the early (and later part as well) of the 1800's, the Stewarts lived in the northern part of Symmes Twp. near the Warren Co. border, of which today some has been annexed by Loveland. What is now Union Cemetery, next to the Symmes Twp. Administration Building was owned by the Stuart family. I have a copy of the deed in 1829 where Andrew Stewart sold the land to the "Trustees of the Burying Ground" for $1.00. I believe years ago it was called "Stewarts Cemetery", but is now called Union Cemetery. Only a few of the records have ever been published (from cemetery readings by the DAR), Symmes Twp. now has control and maintenance of the grounds, records etc. and will give information over the phone. (513-683-6644). I guess it would depend upon what kind of records you seek, but land, wills etc. would all still be in Hamilton Co. I'm unsure if Loveland kept their own birth or death records in the later years, so I would imagine if the event occurred in the Hamilton Co. part of Symmes/Loveland, those records would again be found with Hamilton Co. if they exist after the many court house fires.
