In the census Ohio Twp the only John I find is in this household Stephen 32 Shoemaker b OH, Mary M 33 b MD , George W 7, John H 5, Emma F 1 all children born Ohio In 1860 census Ohio Twp a Stephen Jackson 42, shoemaker, b. Ohio, wife Nancy 33 (perhaps Mary M has died and Stephen remarried), George 18, John 15, Emma 11, Lenora 6 all children born Ohio. In 1840 p. 228 in New Richmond is also a Stephan Jackson It seems that both of Stephen's marriages probably took place in Clermont and should be in the Marriage index if you write the genealogical society.
