Carl Ely and Ely Hill have Callahan 1st cousins, while they are a bit more distant from me. Bantam,Clermont Co,Oh 1930's and 1940's. I've talked to their David Calahan on-line his siblings computer. I suppose all 3 of us knew Miss Ethel Vandement, who,my mother said, had to quit teaching because of Poor health, but, like my unhealthy Mom ,reached her 90's, in Bethel. And,faintly, her brother, uncle Orin Vandement. Bob Davidson and I had need for the 1922 "Bethel Journal's " to plan the 1972 US GRANT 150'S, but the newspaper files did not go back that far. "Go see Miss Ethel" we were told, and she told us "Come back in a few days-Orin always saved the papers in the attic. " And she had them. Was Vandement the Vanneman of Swedish sw NJ like my Justice? Memory is that one of the Shebesta's bought the collection of Bethel Journal's at Miss Ethel's estate sale. Keith?
