    3. Dear Pat, Bob, Marie, Barb, "site", and ?: Hello. Sorry about your "call down". I told you all that I was going downhill, which right now has 2 inches, plus 7 . 7 inches, plus 4 inches, of good ole' Hoosier fast and furious snow on it; temperature at .06. When John Short Sr ( 1759/61 - 1836) died he ordered that his son William stay on home place, take care of his mother, Mary, and sister Mary; with the widow Mary to have all personal estate. William was to have use of the homeplace as long as he took care of mother Mary and sister Mary. Then when mother Mary and sister Mary both died, the real property would be devided equally among all of John Short Sr heirs. The mother, Mary, died 1839, and for several years William was settleing the personal items. William, and his family, stayed on the homeplace untill 1846, per "okay" of heirs. He died in 1846 (buried Short Family Cemetery/"Wheeler-Short"), and all of the Ohio heirs and the Indiana heirs sold the homeplace to Benjamin Frazee. William Shorts widow, Charlotte (Hall) Short also sold her "claim" to same,,but keeping about 3 1/4 acres.. Take care. Regards, Dick
