    3. She died before I was born. She wrote,in the 1920's, a family history in my lap. She taught at Bantam,Anti-Bantam,and Bethel from age 15,after being schooled in New Richmond. 50 years,she taught Sunday school at the Bantam Prsbyterian But,the thing that makes her stand out-60 years she wrote a Bantam column for the "Clermont Sun "newspaper. The week she died,at 78,she wrote her Bantam column,"and" read two books. My Mom said they played cards that last night. When they quit for the night, Ruie said"I'll say 'GOOD BYE" rather than "Good Night" and went up to bed. And she had a stroke that night,and soon died. 60 years worth of her Bantam columns are on microfilm at the library in Batavia. How often do you hear people say,"We should have asked them while they lived" "All our records burned when the house burnt" "Everything was lost in the flood" 60 years of Bantam columns! 60 times 52. 3120 columns Ruie wrote are in Batavia. Bantam's a village in western Tate twnsp. I know he column contain some Monroe twnsp; some Batavia twnsp; some Williamsburg twnsp. 10-20 of those 60 years,she had the neighbrhood's telephone. 15 years,she had the neighborhood's rail stop. 50 years of going to one church,and being related to everybody in the other. 15 of those years,she lived in the town of Bethel. She was 78 in 1938. 3120 newspaper columns!
