John & Sarah were Married in Batavia, Clermont Co.,OH June 12, 1823. John & Rebecca settled in Clermont Co. 1809 & he served in the war of 1812 under the command of gen Hull. John and six of his companions escaped capture in Detroit when Gen Hull surrendered and made their way to Chilicoth, OH.
