Within the week since I posted my 'offer' (Monday to Monday), I have received 50 pieces of mail from the good genies on this site. Every one has been answered, some receiving up to 9 printable pages on their specific name/s submitted. ...To add to our growing list of UNUSUAL names being researched: Dorcas COOPER; Samuel Garrett PRATHER; Andrew MART; Tobias DOLE; VAN KOUWENHOVEN; Freelove DIBBLE; Zadock & Ezra NOBLE; Anthony CIANCIOLO; and Benjamin MALOTT. I would like to point out that while I can help you with research 'possibilities' -- it is up to each individual to dig from there. Several people have asked for additional help (i.e. how to get maiden names, where to find various documents, etc), and I simply don't have the time to answer all of those requests. Every situation can be different, with no one-line answers. Compiling a family genealogy takes a lifetime! Like they say...it is a never ending job...so don't anticipate finishing it. Whenever you run into one brick wall, plow awhile in another area. I can see that many of you have reached out for years, looking for specific ancestors; that you have posted across the Internet on Message Boards and a wide range of other genie sites. (All of those previous 'Posts' come up on my screen, when I plug in a name you have sent me. <smiling>) Barbara Jean ----- Original Message ----- From: Barbara Jean Green <bjgreen@infinet.com> To: <OHCLERMO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 11, 2001 10:45 AM Subject: UNUSUAL First & Last Names - Update > Since March 5th when I offered to research the UNUSUAL, I have logged in 34 > requests and responded to all in some manner.
