JIm, I will keep you in mind if I find information to connect us. Thank you for your response. John Weaver Sr.and his family arrived in Clermont Co. about 1810 having previously lived in Berkeley Co. Virginia. They were Methodist and settled in Batavia Township and I believe that Frederick Weaver and his family were German Baptist Brethren (Dunkards) and lived in Goshen Township. The closes that I can get to a possible connection is that John Weaver's parents were married and birth records for his siblings were from Germantown, Pa. Because of economic necessity and persecution in central Germany, one group of German Baptist Brethren, came to America in 1719 to take up free lands offered by William Penn. The members settled in Germantown, near Philadelphia. If you ever find a link please let me know. His father was Frederick Weaver b. 1774 Maryland , married Elizabeth Maugens in Hagerstown Maryland Dec. 1797. Frederick and George (father) Weaver arrived in Clermont Co Ohio after 1800 and before 1810. They were in the Maryland census 1800 and the Clermont Co. Ohio census 1810. That gives you a little information about the family I come from. Do you have any ties to that Weaver Line? Love Twila James Weaver wrote: Herman, I believe the cemetery that you referred to by the Old Sportsman Club was the Duckwall Burial Grounds. It was adjacent to an old Methodist Church built by Rev. Lewis Duckwall. In 1948 there were only eight stones with identifiable markings, today only a few stones remain. Duckwall, Weaver, Gray and Wolfe are the names that I remember listed. According to the 1870 Clermont County Atlas a road crossed the East Fork where the Sportsman Club was and connected to what is today Snyder Road.
