Clarence Lytle, Herb Renske, Mike Retzler,Jake Retzler, - Lung, -Moore, Mutt Henderson, Edgar Ansteat sp?, the Batavia TAXI man,Bud ?,Brice Hendrickson,Al Boles,John Armleader,Bob Slade, Lee Phillips, .Later they got a 2nd picnic grounds near the intersection of Rt 222 and Elklick Rd. T here was [is?] a small family cemetary near Elk L ick R d,at the old clubhouse.
Herman, I believe the cemetery that you referred to by the Old Sportsman Club was the Duckwall Burial Grounds. It was adjacent to an old Methodist Church built by Rev. Lewis Duckwall. In 1948 there were only eight stones with identifiable markings, today only a few stones remain. Duckwall, Weaver, Gray and Wolfe are the names that I remember listed. According to the 1870 Clermont County Atlas a road crossed the East Fork where the Sportsman Club was and connected to what is today Snyder Road.
