I've been studying the neighborhood Isaac Penny lived in. This latest study was prompted by a letter re Meekers,Phillips,.Irelands,Hays, but my Dad grew up on Clover Creek,1898-2000, and his ancestors,Anna Titus Stone, Hermon Stone,Jr,Charles Fagley,John and Mary Medary Iden owned farms just down Clover from the Meekers and Phillips. Back in 1955,I watched one of the Penny's play baseball for the Locust Ridge men's baseball team. Also,my Bethel-Tate High classmates talked of parking in Penny's Woods. Penny's woods had been logged in dry weather, anbd the logging roads were not rutted. Mrs Margaret Meranda Burbage was a friend of mine, and provided me with some group sheets, and journal abstracts from the Locust Ridge-Spring Grove-Neal's Corner neighborhood. Margaret used to volunteer 1-3 afternoons a week in the Brown Co Gen Soc library,Ye Ol Stone Jail,Courthouse Square,Georgetown,Ohio .
