    1. Fletcher, Bickel, Hall
    2. Hello listers...I am new to this list. My ancestor Jesse Fletcher lived in Clermont County and I am trying to track down his origins. Here is what I have and I would appreciate any help... John Fletcher b. abt 1760 somewhere in PA (possibly Western PA and from a farming family who had whiskey stills) married Phoebe Bickel. They had two sons David and William and left Bedford Cty, PA in 1791 along with several other families to go to Gerrard's Station, Hamilton County, Ohio. Jesse was born there in 1792, possibly the first white child born in that county. John was accidently shot during a surveying expedition and Phoebe married Captain Richard Hall who was apparently in charge of the settlers. In early 1800's the family all moved to Clermont Cty as Richard was transferred there under St. Clair. Apparently other Fletcher and Bickel family members had migrated to Ohio with them and on to Clermont County. The Draper Papers mention other Fletchers and Bickels in Hamilton County early on so I suspect related families just all went together. I am trying to find out the origins of these folks. If any of you have information or family connections to any of these lines, I would love to hear from you. Susan in Milwaukee
