    3. I too have been trying to research 'ANDERSON' who lived on the road between Williamsburg and Mt Orab. During the Civil War the family of Samuel C. Anderson (b. 1832, OH) lived in this area and had problems with Morgan's Raiders when they came thru the area. Samuel Anderson was married to Sarah Jane Hitchcock (b 1834 KY). Her father, Anson Hitchcock (b. 1802 PA), is listed in the census as living in this area also at that time. (Anson was married to Huldah Gilman, dau of Joseph Gilman who settled a little east of Sardinia, Brown Co, OH) The family stories always spoke of what the women of the family did when Morgan came thru, and how they protected themselves, but never mentioned the men. Were they away in Civil War? I have not found them in military records. Anson Hitchcock died in 1862 and is buried in Sardinia Cem. Our Andersons had lived for a time in the Covington, KY area, and Sam and his family returned there after the Civil War. Samuel C. Anderson's father was Samuel S. and was born 1805 in Ohio. We have not been able to find the parents for Samuel S. Anderson. I have wondered if they are related to the Andersons mentioned in other queries for Clermont & Brown Cos, but haven't been able yet to connect. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I need help finding Anson Hitchcock's ancestors. Diane
