In the book "Boone Co., Indiana History" published 1984, page 418, a biographical sketch of the Norman & Thelma Sloan family, makes mention of the following: "...his second great grandfather, William Slone/Sloan, came from Clermont Co., Ohio to Marion Co., IN in the 1830's. And his third great grandfather, George Slone/Sloan, came from Pennsylvania to Ohio in 1817." Elsewhere it states: "Norman's great grandfather, Marquis De LaFayette Sloan, came to Boone County from Marion Co., IN in 1890...Norman Wayne Sloan was born in Center Township, Boone Co., IN on February 22, 920.....His son, William Lee, born April 27, 1944...actively works with family genealogy". ______________________________ - ----------------------------
