    1. Re: [NJATLANT] Great +Little Egg Harbor Rivers> SW Ohio.
    2. HERMON B FAGLEY
    3. My grandmother always said"from Little Egg Harbor" for people on the south side of the present Mullica [old Little Egg Harbor ]river. Port Republic-Leeds Point-Collins Mill-Clark's Mill,,Smithville,Galloway Twnsp, now Atlantic-was then old Gloucester Co,NJ. Today, the harbor is north of the mouth of the Mullica River. Some came here from the north bank of the Mullica, also .There are 2 changes to county lines on the north bank. Old Little Egg HARBOR TWNSP was in Burlington Co, but Burlington Co gave it's eastern portion to Ocean Co,or it's parent, old Monmouth Co. Then there are the people at the mouth of the GREAT EGG HARBOR river who came here. North of the river is Atlantic-was Gloucester Co. South of the river was Cape May etal counties. The point is that there are several counties, and 2 + Quaker Monthly Meetings that might have EGG HARBOR people's data. I live at Bethel,Ohio,on Ohio Rt 125, in an area settled by the "Jersey colony". Follow Rt 125 west across the Little Miami River,to where it joins with US RT 50,in Lynwood-Columbia,east Cincinnati, and you find a Ferris neighborhood. Look under 'All Databases" on www.ancestry.com for an H database, and select Hamilton Co,Oh and search for FERRIS for articles,or in this Clermont Co,an EZRA? FERRIS came from there to preach Baptist 1825-50 era nw of Batavia,Oh. A portion of our Jersey settlement came from the other portion of Old Gloucester Co,NJ. Woodbury-Swedesboo,mostly. When I played on the 1955-56 Bethel,Ohio high basketball team, I knew I shared Samuel Ely m 1804 Leeds Point,NJ Rachel Leeds blood with a team mate. But there were 4 Parker's and their Bill Phillips cousin on those Bethel high reserve and varsity basketball teams. And I've just learned I share James Steelman m Susanah Toy, and Japhet Leeds blood with them. They have one of the 1803 colony-Edward Doughty,of Absecon, and also Jonathan Parker m Abigail Steelman, and Nehemiah Leeds m Ann Risley. Doughty was part of the 1803 colony from ,now,Atlantic Co,NJ to Clermont Co,Oh . Put the people kept coming. Parker may have moved here to Clermont Co,Oh in the 1830's. Maybe with Daniel Doughty and James Ewan. Another basketball team mate was Roger Strickland. Debate whether his Michael Strickland, 1805, was from n Cape May,or Leeds Point,NJ.
