Grant, I have two David White listings in my database. One you probably have is David White married to Jane Shaw on Oct 22, 1818 in Clermont Co. OH. The source for this was an LDS film, the number of which I don't have at hand. The second is a David White who died Feb 18, 1835 in Franklin Co. KY. The source is Kentucky State Historical Society Register R976.9 K37; Kentucky Marriages and Obituaries Vol. Two Obituaries p57. In Hamilton Co. OH there was also a White's station in the late 1700's. In northern KY there are a number of early White's eg circa 1790-1800 these appear to be primarily from Virginia. I am descended from one of these George White b. 1804 in KY and he is our brick wall being unable to identify his parents. There was much migration back and forth across the Ohio river so when researching this area you cannot afford to exclude Kentucky.
