Zebulon Applegate resided in 1840 in Ohio township, and was like Mr. Arthur on the Revolutionary pension list. Samuel Davis came from the Blue Ridge country, Virginia and settled at the mouth of Shaylor's run in Union township where he died in 1825. He was in the Southern campaign under General Green. He left eight children, among them were Thomas, who had a distillery and mill, but went to Indiana; Henry, father of Shadrach, John and William went to Indiana, Joseph, who died at the mouth of Hall's run in 1855, and who was in the war of 1812.
