Jerry Halstead and I visited a number of Underground RR sites yesterday. Jerry was using his handheld Globial Positioning Devices. My Dad was 1898-2000. Dad's uncle,Capt William Fagley was,his sisters reported later,a conductor on the Underground R R. Will m Maria Fee,dau of UGRRer Robert Fee,who was son of UGRRer Thomas Fee. They were married by Ripley's famous UGRRer,Rev John Rankin. I nterested reseachers might searh for Rev John Gregg Fee,of Berea College,fame. Jerry and I traveled along the Ohio River,from very se Clermont west to Christian Ebersole's at the mouth of 10 Mile. [RE cemetaries-there 'MUST" have been,or is aan unpublished cemetary in the wide Ohio River bottom east of the mouth of Bullskin. That bottom was one of the two most populated areas of 1800 Clermont. Later,there were many deaths when a commune's building collapsed in a flood. South East Franklin township. Also,I did 'NOT" note the "OLD' cemetary along Rt 52,in Neville. I was looking for it from the car window. We passed Pres-Gen US Grant's birthplace in Pt Pleasant [spring,1822].We passed Rev Parker's Academy at Clermontville. And we went the length of New Richmond. The Ohio River,west of the 'HIGH' dam at Neville is not much higher than years ago. Kentu cky owned the Ohio River,and slavery was legal to the "LOW WATER MARK" ON THE Ohio side. When we stopped at proven Underground Railroader Robert Fee's,at w Moscow's river bank,legal slavery was yards south of his home site. A sign marks the site under ancient trees. 2 barns remain that may have been Robert Fee's. We stopped at Lewis Fagaly's 1867 house. Capt Will Fagley had to have operated out of the Fagaly's former home south of Poplar Creek. The house at that site [once Benjamin South's cabin], was built about 1867 by Will Fagley's br other,Miller Woodson Fagaly, [I'm spelling the surname correctly,as each spelled it.
