    3. Carol: It's probably a good bet that your Elizabeth Gray was a descendant (perhaps granddaughter) of Archibald Gray who settled in Clermont County early on. Archibald had 11 children by my count, 7 sons (John, Hiram, Henry, Vincent, James H, Aaron and Andrew) and 4 daughters (Mary, Elizabeth, Rachel and ?). I am no expert on the Gray genealogy, but am interested in this family because of their close association with the Beckelhymer (aka Behymer) family that I have been researching for several years (see my web page at: http://members.home.net/johntippet/). Archibald was born circa 1757 in PA. He had a daughter named Elizabeth, but she married Aaron Parker in 1819, so she would have been likely one generation earlier than your Elizabeth who married in 1831. You need to determine which of the seven sons of Archibald may have been Elizabeth's father. Andrew had a daughter, Elizabeth, but she was born in 1824. John, Henry and Vincent moved west early on per Everts 1880 history of Clermont County, OH, so I don't think they would have been your Elizabeth's father (BTW: John Gray moved to Fulton County, IL in the 1830s - I suspose Henry and/or Vincent may have joined him). That leaves Hiram, James H and Aaron as possibilities. I have done no research on them so can offer no assistance there. Hope this helps...
