Hello: Thanks for the continued History, it is priceless. One of the Wheeler "debates" that comes up over the times, and repeats, is about the "history" of the wife of Elijah Beckelhymer, son of John Abraham Beckelhymer and Margaret Short. This has been rehashed several times, but my research efforts results are: Elijah "Bhymer" born 5 Jan/5Jun 1826 Clermont Co Oh, married 2 Feb 1849, to Amanda Wheeler born 1828 Clermont Co Ohio. No children lived past infancy, even though twice they had a different young female living with them. Elijah "Bhymer" died Vigo Co Ind 14 June 1895. Amanda (Wheeler) "Bhymer" died Vigo Co Ind 2 May 1905. She died with no blood relatives living in Vigo Co Ind, though had intermarried relatives living there. ! She is listed/documented as being the daughter of Lavina Wheeler, and "unlisted/unknown/un-surnamed father". This, along with "story", and "other", indicates that Lavina Wheeler was not married at the time, and may have stayed so? One piece of info/data I have never had the time to get is the Civil War Pension Papers of Elijah Beckelhymer, or of that of Amanda (Wheeler) Bhymer as widow, who served with Co C 11th Ind Infantry, 1895. They may show further light on Amanda? Take care. Regards, Dick PS, PPS, PPPS: As per the listing/recording of all of the readible and unreadible, guessed at, marked and unmarked stones, marker stones, field stones, plus or with those recorded by DAR, pictures, etc.,; Short Family Cemetery ("Wheeler-Short Cemetery"), just off of Lewis Road, Clermont Co Ohio, I suggest that this info be copied from ! my in person/on site research efforts filed with Library/Gene-Hist Society over/down from courthouse.
